Visiting the University
The University of Birmingham encourages its alumni to visit. The best times are when the University is hosting special alumni events. These include reunions, and other occasions, which are usually announced in advance. If you cannot plan your trips around these occasions, the University will still try to make you feel welcome.
Traveling to England - Supporting The Foundation
There are many ways to travel to the UK. If you travel with British Airways, American Airlines or United Airlines, you can also benefit the Foundation by doing so.
British Airways
Through the British Airways On Business program, the Foundation earns free British Airways tickets for the benefit of the University's administrators, faculty members, and students. On Business miles are earned in addition to the frequent flier mileage earned by alumni for their own use.
Example:
An alumnus is flying round trip between New York and London in coach class, can earn 6,912 frequent flier miles for his own account and 1,200 On Business miles for the Foundation.
8000 On Business miles earns a free return ticket between the UK and North America.
To support the University at no cost to yourself, just present the On Business account number 12631NUS in addition to your British Airways Executive Club (frequent flier program) account number, when booking flights anywhere in the world with BA.

American Airlines
The American Airlines Business ExtrAA program allows the Foundation to earn free American Airlines tickets for the benefit of the University's administrators, faculty members, and students. Business ExtrAA program miles are earned in addition to the frequent flier mileage earned by alumni for their own use.
To donate Business ExtrAA travel rewards, all you have to do is make sure your Business ExtrAA account number appears on your tickets.
Option 1
If you choose to book your reservation online through www.aa.com, input your Business ExtrAA account number in the "Business ExtrAA Account Number" section.
Option 2
If you make reservations directly with American Airlines, American Eagle®, or AmericanConnection®, call American Airlines Reservations at 1-800-433-1790, in the U.S. and Canada. For all other locations, contact your local American Airlines Reservations office.
Option 3
If you choose to make reservations and purchase your tickets at an American Airlines airport ticket counter, please ask the American Airlines agent to place your Business ExtrAA account number in the "Tour Code" box.
